Warzone’s anti cheat RICOCHET has found a new way to kill off cheaters in game. The latest mitigation system called “Splat” will cause a lot of deaths by fall damage.

Call of Duty in general and Warzone specifically always had a huge cheating problem. With Warzone being free to play and cheats available for purchase, cheaters quickly took over the popular Battle Royale game in the past.

To get a hold of the issue, Activision introduced their own anti cheat called RICOCHET. As we explained before, RICOCHET is using machine learning to constantly get better and keep up with the ever evolving cheats.

So to have a bit of fun, the devs don’t just ban cheaters, but use so-called mitigation systems. In the past, that meant cheaters weren’t able to deal damage to other players or other players would turn invisible. Now they introduced an even more ridiculous way to punish cheaters.

“Splat” Cuts Parachutes

The latest mitigation system is called “Splat” and developers describe it as follows:

With Splat, if a cheater is discovered, we may randomly, and for fun, disable their parachute sending them careening into the ground after they deploy.

So if you are detected cheating, the anti cheat will just cut your parachute during deployment and let you fall to certain death. If a cheater should still make it to the ground, the devs have another little surprise:

Splat can also adjust player velocity, which transforms a bunny hop into a 10,000-foot drop taking them out instantly.

And don’t worry, the new “Splat”-system will only activate if a player has been verified to be cheating. Just being reported by other players isn’t enough to turn it on.

To make it more visual to all players in a match when a cheater gets killed by RICOCHET, Activision also introduced an anti cheat logo to the kill feed. Have you seen cheaters being killed by RICOCHET already, or did it maybe get you yourself?
